Action Trades & Apprenticeships is looking for motivated and reliable people who are ready to start a career in the construction industry as a Carpentry Apprentice.

What You'll Get to Experience

As an Action Trades & Apprenticeships Carpentry Apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to work with experienced tradespeople and gain practical experience across a range of construction projects, including:

- New home construction
- Renovations and extensions
- Commercial construction
- Framing and structural carpentry
- Roofing and external construction
- Fit-out and finishing work

Our goal is to help you develop a broad range of carpentry skills throughout your apprenticeship so you can become a confident and capable tradesperson. As you progress through your apprenticeship, you'll learn to:

- Construct wall and ceiling frames
- Construct pitched roofs and eaves
- Build external stairs
- Lay sub-floors and floorboards
- Install fascia and external cladding
- Construct door and window frames
- Build concrete formwork
- Use a wide range of hand and power tools
- Read and interpret building plans
- Take levels and measurements
- Complete building calculations
- Follow construction plans and specifications
- Work safely as part of a construction team





What We're Looking For We're looking for people who are genuinely interested in building a career in carpentry and construction.

To be considered, you should:

- Have a genuine interest in carpentry and the construction industry
- Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn
- Be physically fit and comfortable working in a construction environment
- Be able to follow instructions and take direction
- Have a strong attitude towards workplace safety
- Be self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team
- Have good attention to detail
- Hold a current driver's licence and have reliable transport
- Hold a White Card, or be willing to obtain one
- Have a Certificate I or II in Construction (advantageous)
- Have previous construction experience (advantageous)
