Your new role
Shape digital engagement that reaches Australians nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity for an APS6 communications professional to drive high-quality social media, digital content and multimedia initiatives within a Federal Government department. Working in a collaborative communications team, you'll create engaging content, deliver digital campaigns, manage website content, and help strengthen public understanding of key government programs and services.
This role would suit a creative and technically capable communications professional with strong experience across social media management, digital engagement, website analytics and multimedia production.
- Develop and publish engaging content across social media and digital channels.
- Plan, create and edit video content for social media, websites and digital campaigns.
- Design multimedia assets including graphics, short-form video and visual content.
- Monitor social media performance and provide insights through analytics reporting.
- Support digital campaigns through content planning, audience targeting and optimisation.
- Manage website content and digital publishing activities.
- Ensure all content meets accessibility requirements, including WCAG standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver effective communication outcomes.
- Contribute to content strategies that increase engagement and audience reach.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience managing social media platforms within a government, corporate or large organisational workplace.
- Strong social media video production and editing skills, including filming, post-production and content optimisation.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, After Effects and related applications.
- Experience in website content management systems such as Drupal, GovCMS or WordPress
- Knowledge of digital content best practice, social media trends and audience engagement strategies.
- Experience using analytics and reporting tools to measure content performance.
- Understanding of accessibility requirements and digital publishing standards.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
