About the Role As a Photography and Visual Arts Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, student-centred learning experiences in Photography and Visual Arts within a Catholic educational setting. Essential requirements include:
- A strong knowledge of Visual Arts and Photography curriculum, pedagogy and contemporary practices, with the ability to deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences across Stages 4-6.
- The ability to develop students' creative, technical and critical thinking skills through practical and theory-based learning experiences.
- A demonstrated understanding of how to differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs, interests and abilities of students and maximise their learning outcomes.
- Sound knowledge of effective learning environments, lesson planning, assessment practices and the use of technology to enhance student engagement and learning.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity, develop confidence in their artistic practice and foster a lifelong appreciation of the visual arts.
- A commitment to ongoing skilled learning and the continual improvement of teaching practice.
- The ability to work creatively and collaboratively within the school community and contribute positively to co-curricular opportunities, exhibitions and creative initiatives.
- A passion for supporting students to achieve their personal best while setting high, achievable expectations for learning and creative expression.
Qualifications, Accreditations and Experience
- Tertiary Qualification in Education (or fourth year student)
- NESA Accreditation (Conditional Accreditation also accepted)
- Statements of Service
- Commitment to meeting CSPD's Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead requirements as part of employment
