About the Role

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a fixed term basis, starting immediately and running through to mid-December (approximately 4 months). This role works 4 days per week, with 2 to 3 days based in our Brisbane Northside office and the remainder able to be worked remotely.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll support the finance function by performing core accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records and helping prepare information for financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the accounts inbox and liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and obtain missing information
- Prepare and process credit runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions to source documents
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank and credit card transactions
- Manage and review employee expense reimbursements




- Assist with the month end accounting process, including preparing journals, performing account reconciliations and reviewing financial reports
- Generate financial reports and provide analysis as required
- Support other ad hoc tasks and projects as they arise

About You

- Hold, or be working towards, a degree in accounting or a related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Xero
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process and record financial transactions
- Effective communicator, comfortable liaising with colleagues and external suppliers to resolve issues
- Adaptable and comfortable picking up unfamiliar tasks in a fast paced workplace
- Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and a high standard of ethics
