Assistant Accountant

Mascot, NSW | $75,000 - $85,000 Super | Full-Time

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join a small and supportive finance team based in Mascot. This is a hands-on role covering a broad range of transactional finance responsibilities across both Australian and New Zealand accounts.

What's involved?

Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, your responsibilities will include:

- AP & AR processing and reconciliations
- Invoice, expense and credit card processing
- Fortnightly payment runs and payroll support
- Customer payments, statements and debtors
- Supplier and customer queries
- Bank reconciliations
- Intercompany transactions
- Month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Fixed asset register maintenance
- P&L; support and reporting
- General finance administration
- Ad hoc tasks and process improvements

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with previous experience in a transactional finance or Assistant Accountant position who enjoys working across AP,



AR and general ledger functions.

You'll ideally bring

- A good understanding of transactional finance and accounting terminology
- Previous experience across AP and/or AR
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
- The ability to work calmly and accurately in a fast-paced environment

The role involves supporting New Zealand accounts, including payroll, as well as providing assistance across Australian accounts.

The chance

- Mascot location
- $75,000 - $85,000 Super
- MON - FRI - 38 hours per week
- Flexible start times
- Ideally office-based 5 days per week, however there is some flexibility for the right person
- Birthday leave
- Broad role with exposure across AP, AR, payroll and general ledger
