About the opportunityThe Elevatory works with owner-led Australian businesses, helping them break revenue plateaus caused by weak governance, untrusted metrics and owner dependency. We are taking on a small cohort of Associate Coaches — three to five people — into a structured 18-month mentored program. This is an apprenticeship, not a course. You will be contracted and paid, you will work on live client engagements from the first month, and you will be supervised weekly.
No prior coaching experience is required. We are recruiting for aptitude and coachability, not credentials.
What you'll receiveMentoring and development independently costed at $39,980 per year, including:
- Weekly one-to-one supervision with the principal (45 minutes, 44 weeks a year)
- Monthly half-day cohort intensives with your peer group
- Live client co-delivery — observation, then supported delivery, then solo work
- Recorded session reviews with written critique
- Quarterly 360 assessment against a five-domain competency framework
- Full licence to our diagnostic tools, frameworks, templates and engagement IP
- An external CPD and accreditation allowance
What you'll be doingMonths 1–9: Learning the model and the diagnostic. Observing live client work. Preparing session materials and analysis. Co-delivering with the principal, then running your own sessions under supervision. Taking ownership of your first clients.
Months 10–18: Running an independent client book. Developing commercial capability — scoping, pricing and winning your own work. Choosing a specialisation.
About youEssential
- 0–3 years in coaching, consulting or advisory — or a different background entirely and a clear, considered reason for moving into this work
- Strong commercial curiosity: you want to understand how a business actually makes money
- Excellent listening and questioning ability; comfortable with silence
- Numerate enough to read a P&L; and ask the right question about it
- Genuinely coachable — you will receive direct feedback weekly
- Able to work autonomously in a remote setting
- Australian work rights
Desirable
- Prior experience inside an owner-led SME
- Formal coaching qualification (helpful, not required)
- Finance, operations or people-leadership background
What this is not
- Not a course you buy. You are paid, not charged.
- Not a licence or franchise arrangement.
- Not a fit for anyone building a personal brand as the primary goal.
- Not passive. The program is demanding and gated — progression is earned at each stage.
How to applyComplete the application and Applications close 25th Aug cob. Shortlisted applicants complete a DISC profile and a short written business-analysis exercise, followed by two conversations. We are deliberately slow at this stage — an 18-month commitment on both sides deserves it.
