Technical Officer Scientific - Nursing (Newcastle)

Permanent Part-Time Part Year (21 hours/week for 44 weeks/year)

Salary package up to $100,536, includes salary ($80,246 – $88,576), employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (paid pro rata, based on part time hours completed)

About the Role

The Technical Officer Scientific Nursing is a hands‑on, dynamic role at the heart of nursing education delivery. You’ll be instrumental in creating high‑quality, industry‑aligned clinical learning environments by preparing and maintaining labs, equipment and resources that bring practical nursing skills to life. Working closely with teaching staff,



you’ll ensure every class is set up for success and reflects real‑world clinical practice.

From managing equipment and supplies to supporting safe, innovative learning spaces, you’ll play a vital role in shaping future nurses and supporting life‑changing education outcomes across TAFE NSW.

Please note this position is for 21 hours per week for 44 weeks per year, and the advertised annual salary will be pro‑rated to reflect the part‑time, part‑year work schedule.

- A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement)
- Current registration as Registered Nurse or are an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Medication Administration Certificate.
- Mental Health Nursing Medication Administration Certificate.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current nursing practice, including the use of appropriate equipment in nursing procedures, medical terminology and infection control principles
- Demonstrated experience in administration, including inventory management, purchase and maintenance of equipment, and basic financial recording




- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision in area relating to the role
