Are you a skilled Bioprocess/ Fermentation professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment?

We are partnering with a leading pharmaceutical company to recruit a Bioprocess/Fermentation Engineer or Scientist to support process transfer, scale-up, and optimisation activities on a two-year fixed-term contract. This is an exciting prospect to work on cutting-edge processes and new product introductions, driving improvements across upstream and mid-stream operations.

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead technology transfer activities from R&D; to manufacturing, including GMP documentation, protocols, SOPs, and batch records.
n
- Design and execute continued process verification strategies, scale-up and scale-down bioreactor studies, and technical trials.
n
- Support cleaning validation, equipment qualification, and qualification of new bioprocess raw materials.
n
- Monitor bioreactor performance using Process Analytical Technologies (PATs) and data-driven insights.
n
- Investigate technical assay issues, identify root causes of process deviations, and recommend solutions.
n




- Conduct process trend analysis and comparability assessments to ensure consistency and quality across sites.
n
- Identify and implement process optimisation opportunities to enhance yield, reduce variability, and improve bioreactor performance.

Qualifications

n

n
- A Master or PhD in Science or Engineering.
n
- Experience in bioprocess engineering, cell culture, and bacterial fermentation.
n
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive continuous improvement.
n
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
n
- Previous experience working in a GMP environment is highly desirable.
n
