As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical inspections, servicing, repairs and diagnostics across a range of passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles. You will work closely with our panel and repair team to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, inspections and general mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Perform brake, suspension, steering and cooling-system repairs.
- Carry out pre-repair and post-repair mechanical inspections.
- Assist with vehicle safety checks following accident repairs.
- Identify additional mechanical work required and communicate findings clearly.
- Work efficiently to meet agreed repair times and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
- Complete job cards and relevant documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
About you
- Relevant automotive trade qualification – Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a qualified motor mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- A sound knowledge of modern vehicle mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A current Australian driver's licence.
- A positive, reliable and skilled attitude.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
