About The Role
Motivated and enthusiastic B1 and B2 Aircraft Maintenance Apprentices are sought to join the Performance Aviation Engineering team based at Shellharbour Airport. This is an opportunity to build a career in aircraft maintenance while gaining practical, hands-on experience working alongside experienced aviation maintenance professionals. As an apprentice, you will develop skills and knowledge across a range of aircraft maintenance activities relevant to your chosen B1 or B2 pathway, working under the supervision and direction of a LAME.
The role is primarily based at Shellharbour Airport, with opportunities and requirements to travel to other sites throughout Australia as operational needs arise.
What You'll Learn
- B1 apprentices: airframe, mechanical and engine-related maintenance activities, including inspections, servicing, repairs, component replacement and aircraft systems
- B2 apprentices: aircraft electrical, instrument, communication, navigation and avionics systems,
including inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, repairs and component replacement
- Aircraft inspections, servicing and maintenance; fault finding and repairs
- Aircraft engines, airframes and mechanical systems; avionics and electrical systems
- Aircraft component removal and installation
- CASA, safety and maintenance requirements; maintenance documentation and quality standards
Essential Requirements
- Currently undertaking, or eligible to commence, a B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in aviation engineering
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality
- Robust communication and teamwork skills
- A current driver's licence, or the ability to obtain one
- Authority to live and work in Australia
Desirable
Previous aviation, mechanical, engineering or trade experience.
