The Role
Australind SHS is seeking a creative and proactive Design and Technology teacher to join their friendly team.
To be successful in this role you should be able to engage students in a range of contexts within the Technologies Learning Area based on your knowledge, experience and skills. You will ideally have a strong understanding of the requirements across the Technologies Learning Area to ensure our students can reach their full potential, safely, in all aspects of the Technology process. You will have the opportunity to deliver highly engaging programs that are relevant to our students' needs in consultation with the rest of the Technologies team.
Knowledge of, and experience in, Australian Curriculum planning, delivery and assessment as well as familiarity with the requirements of Western Australian Certificate of Education(WACE) courses of study are required. Australind SHS also delivers a range of courses as part of its Registered Training Organisation (RTO) scope of offerings, most notably Certificate II in Engineering Pathways (MEM24133). A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) is desirable for this position.
The successful applicant will ideally self-reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. The ideal applicant will have knowledge and experience in providing an engaging, student-centred curriculum encouraging students to be their best. Providing a safe, efficient and effective learning environment is a key priority for this position. This is a great chance to be at the forefront of curriculum delivery in this exciting area.
