Position Information

Riverstone High School (RHS) is a vibrant and inclusive co-educational school located onDharugland, deeply connected to the rich history of the Riverstone area. The school serves a culturally and linguistically diverse community of approximately 800 students, with 45% from a language background other than English, 25% requiring support for EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect), and 11% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Specific Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria:

- 1. Demonstrated capacity to lead high-quality, evidence informed teaching and learning in HSIE that reinforces high expectations to improve outcomes for diverse learners across HSIE courses
- 2. Demonstrated capacity to lead collaborative curriculum implementation and build teacher capacity through instructional leadership, mentoring and high-impact professional learning.
- 3. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with the school executive team to drive quality, evidenced informed initiative related to the school's SEP, and nurture positive, quality relationships across the school and wider community.

General Selection Criteria

- 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- 3.



Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
