Success Works Partners Inc. supports women affected by the criminal justice system to gain and maintain employment. Incorporated in April 2022, it's a not-for-profit run by employed staff and a volunteer Board. Its objectives are to break down barriers to employment for these women, build their confidence and skills (both post-release and while serving community-based sentences), work with employers to create job opportunities, and reduce women's re-offending rates in NSW

Key duties The Treasurer chairs the Finance and Risk Committee (alongside the Board Chair, CEO, and Finance Manager) and is responsible for:

- Ensuring compliance and financial reporting obligations are met
- Preparing for and chairing the monthly Finance Committee meeting
- Reporting regularly to the Board on financial position and performance
- Co-authorising the annual audit/financial report
- Recommending the annual audited financial report to the membership at the AGM
- Preparing and submitting the Annual Information Statement (AIS) to the ACNC
- Co-signing (with the CEO) funding and performance agreements as required
- Signing contracts on behalf of the Board as required
- Reviewing the budget with the CEO before recommending it to the Board
- Co-authorising cheques or EFTs on behalf of the organisation, as required

Skills and experience

- Sound experience in financial reporting, and in compliance and risk oversight

- Experience in governance and strategic leadership — preferably within the not-for-profit sector — is an advantage

Impact of the position The Board holds ultimate responsibility for Success Works' governance — ensuring the organisation meets its legal requirements and stays accountable to donors, stakeholders, and government. As Treasurer, the role sits at the centre of that accountability: sound financial oversight directly enables the organisation to keep operating, remain compliant with regulators like the ACNC, and sustain the funding relationships that let it deliver its core mission — helping women affected by the justice system become work-ready, matched with employers, and financially self-sufficient, ultimately contributing to lower re-offending rates in NSW.
