The Opportunity
In partnership with our host, TE Engineering & Line Boring, we are seeking a motivated full-time Boilermaker Apprentice to join their team. Founded in 2016 in Chinchilla, QLD, TE Engineering & Line Boring delivers expert on-site line boring, fabrication, machining, and maintenance services across Queensland and Northern NSW. Proudly 100% locally owned, they are trusted by Tier 1 clients for their quality, reliability, and rapid turnaround.
With a new facility and in-house CNC and fabrication capabilities, TE Engineering provides agile, solutions-focused support to the mining, civil, construction, and CSG sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while working towards the successful completion of your MEM31925 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade and becoming a fully qualified tradesperson.
Job Details
In this role, you will work under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in metal fabrication and welding while supporting tradespeople. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will:
- Prepare metal components through cutting, grinding, and basic fabrication techniques
- Assist in welding tasks, including TIG and MIG welding, under supervision
- Support experienced tradespeople with the assembly, fitting, and repair of metal structures
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools,
and basic workshop machinery safely and efficiently
- Follow workshop safety procedures and contribute to a clean and organised workspace
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice who is eager to learn, develop their skills, and has a genuine interest in the engineering and fabrication industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- The ability to adapt quickly to new situations
- Excellent communication skills
- A valid driver’s licence
- A Construction White Card
- Strong safety awareness
- Certificate I or II in Engineering (advantageous)
- Previous work experience or relevant industry experience
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, and police check
