About the role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Boilermaker with expertise in chassis alignment to join our workshop team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for both metal fabrication and chassis alignment on a variety of heavy vehicles. Your work will ensure optimal performance, safety, and quality for every project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use alignment equipment to assess and correct chassis alignment
- Conduct inspections to identify misalignments using diagnostic tools
- Adjust suspension systems, straighten chassis rails, and perform welding as needed
- Accurately interpret engineered drawings and specifications
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components
- Keep precise records of alignment work, measurements, and repairs
- Coordinate repairs with technicians and the Workshop Manager
- Ensure quality repairs and complete checklists for insurance work
- Log additional work and communicate changes to the Workshop Manager
- Work effectively in a team and independently when required
What we are looking for:
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Metal Fabricator (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in chassis alignment and heavy vehicle repairs
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineered drawings
- Skilled in welding, cutting, and fabricating metal components
- Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work
