About the role
We are looking for a reliable, organised, and experienced Bookkeeper to join our growing NDIS organisation.
This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will work closely with the Director, management and the wider team to ensure accounts are kept up to date, reconciliations are completed accurately, and invoicing and financial administration are handled efficiently. BAS experience is not required.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, ability to follow directives, managing deadlines, and handling confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial transactions
- Use Xero to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Perform reconciliations
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up as required
- Process supplier bills and payments
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping and administration as required
- Prepare financial information and reports for management
- Assist with month-end processes and financial reconciliations
About You You are an experienced and dependable bookkeeper who takes pride in accuracy and getting things done. You enjoy working in a structured workplace and understand the importance of confidentiality when dealing with financial and employee information.
You will ideally have
Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role
Strong practical experience using Xero
Experience with bank reconciliations
Experience with invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities A professional, reliable, and confidential approach
Experience working within the NDIS, health, disability, or community services sector is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of Australian bookkeeping practices and an understanding of GST, BAS (not required initially), and general financial compliance will be highly regarded.
