About the Team The Dangerous Goods and Explosives team is responsible for administering the WHS legislation, the Explosives legislation and some aspects of the Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) legislation. In the area of hazardous chemicals, the team regulates compliance for all schedule 11 manifest quantity workplaces (MQW), and potential major hazard facilities sites in NSW. Under the Explosives legislation the team is responsible for assessing, reviewing, and making recommendations for licence applications made by individuals and businesses, this includes pyrotechnicians.

About the role The Business Analyst role is integrated to help shape the future direction of the business through data-driven insights, business improvement and strategic analysis. Working across a broad range of operational and regulatory activities. From analysing data, business processes and performance information to identifying emerging trends, risks and opportunities which will support informed decision-making across the sector.

With the opportunity to partner with Inspectors, technical specialists,



policy teams and executives to solve complex business problems.

This role will be responsible for but not limited to;

- Collate information from multiple sources, identify data gaps and develop meaningful insights to support proactive and evidence-based recommendations.
- Analyse operational performance, workforce utilisation and business activities to help optimise resources, improve outcomes and support strategic planning.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand challenges, identify pain points and governance risks to recommend practical solutions.
- Support policy, operational and strategic initiatives by gathering and presenting evidence, evaluating options and developing recommendations.
- Engage with senior leaders and subject matter experts, to help translate complex information into actionable insights that drive continuous improvement and support organisational priorities.

You will demonstrate

- Experience gathering and presenting complex information
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience reviewing and implementing policies and procedures
- Ability to translate complex information




- Understanding of government legislation or policies is beneficial
