About the role
n
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social media strategist to lead our social strategy across a diverse portfolio of leading Australian media brands. This is a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of content, commercial and audience, ensuring that social media not only amplifies our storytelling but also drives measurable audience growth, engagement and revenue.
n
Duties
n
n
- Set and evolve the group-wide social media strategy aligned to our editorial, commercial and audience objectives
n
- Develop platform‐specific strategies per brand, tailored to audience behaviour, performance data and emerging trends
n
- Act as the trusted advisor to brand editors, marketing leads, sales teams and executives, ensuring social strategy is understood, adopted and executed effectively
n
- Lead strategy presentations and influence decision‐making with compelling data, insights and storytelling
n
- Collaborate with product, tech, and external partners (e.g. Meta, TikTok, Pinterest etc.) to ensure that our brands stay ahead of platform changes and opportunities
n
- Create and maintain best practice resources, training, playbooks and performance benchmarks for each brand
n
- Oversee social reporting frameworks and KPIs with a solid focus on engagement, traffic, discoverability, and monetisation
n
- Champion experimentation and innovation, from new formats to emerging platforms and AI‐generated content
n
- Ensure social media is deeply embedded in SEO, email, affiliate, e‐commerce and audience development strategies
n
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to ideate and develop sellable social concepts, including both standalone campaigns and ongoing series, that drive revenue and brand engagement
n

Skills and experience
n
n
- 7+ years' experience in social media strategy, ideally in a digital publishing or media environment
n
- Proven success working across multiple brands,
stakeholders and content verticals
n
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and sell strategy through compelling narrative and data
n
- Deep knowledge of social platforms, trends and analytics tools (Sprout, CrowdTangle, Dash Hudson, etc.)
n
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how social supports business KPIs
n
- Excellent communication, project management and leadership skills
n
- Experience with change management and upskilling large, cross‐functional teams
n
