HorizonOne Recruitment

Canberra

Our client is a federal government agency going through a significant period of growth, with a broad regulatory and policy mandate.

The agency is currently developing and refining its processes and is accountable to Parliament as a non-corporate Commonwealth entity.

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for an APS6/EL1 Procurement Officer to join its Corporate Division on a 12-month non-ongoing basis.

You’ll provide service and procurement guidance to line areas across the agency.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Join a growing Commonwealth agency at an early stage, with a genuine opportunity to help shape its culture, systems and processes
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the agency, rather than working in a narrow, siloed function
- Gain central function and corporate experience, giving your procurement background real visibility
- No two days are the same
- Various locations and flexible working arrangements available

The Role

This role sits within the Corporate Division and is the first point of contact for procurement guidance across the agency.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing service and procurement guidance to line areas across the agency
- Acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on procurement approaches and processes

- Supporting the design and establishment of procurement systems and processes for a growing agency
- Contributing to broader corporate activities as the agency continues to scale up

The Ideal Person

You’re likely to bring APS6 or EL1 level experience in procurement.

You’re comfortable acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and happy to pitch in wherever the agency needs it.

You will bring:

- Experience providing procurement guidance or advice within a corporate function
- A customer-focused approach and confidence acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders
- The ability to work autonomously while helping establish new systems and processes

Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have:

- Experience in a central or corporate function in a Commonwealth Government environment
- A robust understanding of procurement guidelines and frameworks

To be eligible for the role, you must be an Australian citizen, be willing to undergo a policy check and have an active Baseline security clearance.

Salary / Rate

- $129k – $139k + 15.4% Super
- 12-month non-ongoing contract or section 26 transfer available
- Various locations and flexible working arrangements available

HorizonOne is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce and we encourage applications from people of all cultures, capabilities and backgrounds.
