We're looking for an experienced Civil Construction Leading Hand to support our site management teams and help deliver quality civil, water, sewer, stormwater, earthworks and land development projects.

About The Role

n

Reporting to the Site Supervisor and/or Project Manager, the successful candidate will assist with day-to-day site coordination, supervision of workers and subcontractors, plant and material coordination, site safety, quality control and general project delivery.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can lead by example, communicate clearly with site crews, and help drive productivity while maintaining strong safety and quality standards.

What You'll Do

n

As a Leading Hand, you'll lead a small crew while remaining hands-on in the delivery of civil construction works. You'll coordinate daily site activities, maintain a solid focus on safety and quality, and help ensure work is delivered on time. Key responsibilities:

- Lead and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on site
n
- Plan daily work, organise labour, materials, tools and equipment to keep work progressing efficiently
n
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
n
- Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets project requirements and standards
n




- Deliver pre-starts and support the implementation of SWMS, permits and other safety requirements
n
- Supervise small crews and subcontractors as required
n
- Operate plant and equipment where appropriately licensed
n
- Complete site documentation, inspections and safety records
n

Pay range $40 - $48 per hour (depending on experience) + allowances

All training paid for (tickets, machinery competency, safety certs)

Requirements

n

n
- Demonstrated civil construction experience with previous Leading Hand or senior crew experience advantageous
n
- Strong practical skills in water, sewer, stormwater & general civil works
n
- Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate tasks effectively
n
- Solid understanding of WHS, environmental & quality requirements
n
- Construction White Card
n
- Willingness to travel and live away from home at times, depending on project requirements
n
- Plant tickets (excavator, skid steer, roller, truck) - desirable
n
- Ability to read and interpret drawings & specifications
