Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Organisation – Lucas Heights NSW
ANSTO’s Nuclear Materials Research and Technology Group is seeking a Computational Modeller to join our team at Lucas Heights. You will apply numerical modelling techniques – including finite element analysis, crystal plasticity and continuum-scale materials modelling – to analyse materials behaviour, component performance and engineering systems. Your work will directly support the protected and continued operation of ANSTO’s nuclear research facilities and contribute to our research and commercial programs for Australian and international partners.
What makes this role unusual is the loop between simulation and measurement. Modelling here is informed,
calibrated and validated by experimental work you help design and carry out, using ANSTO’s landmark research infrastructure and materials characterisation capability. You will publish in the peer-reviewed literature, report to industry clients and regulators, and collaborate with leading international organisations.
This is a linked Band 5/6 position. Candidates will be appointed at the band that matches their experience. Progression from Band 5 to Band 6 is not automatic and follows a formal assessment against the requirements set out in the Position Description.
