This Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service provides comprehensive primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across South East Queensland. The service is committed to delivering culturally protected, responsive and integrated care through multidisciplinary teams working across a range of community health programs.
Position Description
This practice is seeking a New Graduate Speech Pathologist to provide culturally appropriate speech pathology services as part of a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical services through clinic-based appointments, as well as school and home visits where appropriate.
- Delivering culturally responsive assessments and interventions for children through individual and group programs.
- Building relationships with local schools and kindergartens to support referral pathways and service access.
- Collaborating with Queensland Health and Education Queensland regarding service availability and referral pathways.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and accreditation standards.
Position Requirements
- Relevant degree in Speech Pathology.
- Eligible for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
- Current Criminal History Check.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Current Disability Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
Desirable
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
- Experience providing assessment, case management or speech pathology services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
