We are looking for anenthusiastic and driven graduate level engineer who is willing to work as part of our engineering team to provide additional technical resources to a growing, family-owned Australian supplier and manufacturer of passive fire protection and light sheet metal systems.

The role is being advertised both for graduate level engineers and/or engineers with 1-2 years of general engineering experience to join an existing team with significant resources focused on technical manufacturing support for existing products and systems, and assistance in testing and development of new systems.

About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role of the Graduate Product Engineer is to support the South Granville based manufacturing team whilst ensuring the ISO9001 facility is operated in accordance with the relevant statutory and industry best practices, delivering products to the required quality, on time and in full.

The primary function of the role is to process and support manufacturing projects through the manufacturing facility and assist and support both the engineering and factory team in relation to product manufacture and processing.

The secondary element of the role is to assist in product refinement and development, streamlining draft designs to ensure manufacturability and to assist in redefining and documenting design processes.

This role is based in the NSW South Granville office.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role holder include, but are not limited to:

- Validate and develop existing product designs and constraints for manufacturability
- Carry out CAM/CNC Nest Processing & Programming for work orders
- Assist in the design, development and manufacture of recent products and customer specific orders
- Calculate production costs and estimate resources needed for manufacturing custom orders and new product developments
- Maintain Product Drawings, Bill of Materials and Technical Documentation
- Liaise with internal Sales Team to assist in technical product related enquiries
- Ad-hoc duties as required
- Following the company’s Environmental, Work Health and Safety, and Quality policies and procedures and being proactive in ensuring a safe and healthy worksite for yourself and others

Qualification, Experience and Skills

Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.

Competent in the use of 3D CAD Packages, i.e. SolidWorks or equivalent (Essential)

Competent with Microsoft Office Programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook (Essential)

Experience with CAM Processing for CNC Machines (Desirable)

Understanding of Sheet Metal Manufacturing Processes (Desirable)

Experience with Power Tools (Desirable)

Strong verbal and writtencommunicationskills

Accountability in work completed and issued

Proactive, andwillingness to learn

High attention to detail and strong work ethic (Essential)
