The opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our Clients & Markets team, based in Sydney. This role focus on our Corporate M&A; and Financial Services practice groups. You will work closely with partners to drive growth across

Australia and key regional markets, coordinating with our global network. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, you will bring at least five years’ experience in the legal or broader skilled services sector with a strong track record in business

development and relationship management.

Responsibilities

- Identify and progress opportunities for practice growth
- Lead bids, tenders and panel submissions (including cross border/Asia opportunities), developing compelling content and credentials.
- Leverage industry associations and networks to co-create events, seminars and programs that build profile and generate leads.
- Develop partner and practice business plans; manage pipelines, metrics and reporting.
- Provide ongoing support to partners on key client relationship management, including client plans, pursuits and feedback.
- Work with the digital and marketing teams to deliver campaigns and thought leadership that showcases our sector expertise.
- Manage directory and awards submissions (eg, Chambers and Legal 500) to strengthen market position.
- Collaborate with the wider Clients & Markets team to share insights and maximise cross-sell and international opportunities.

Requirements





- Minimum 5 years’ experience in legal or professional services BD with demonstrable success in B2B services.
- Strong BD and relationship management skills
- Proven experience running bids/tenders and panel processes; ability to craft sector relevant propositions and capability statements.
- Experience leveraging industry associations for partnerships and event programmes.
- Exposure to regional or global BD coordination and cross border campaigns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Strategic and commercially minded, able to spot opportunities and convert them into actionable plans.
- Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management across a matrixed firm.
- Robust project management skills; comfortable managing multiple workstreams to tight deadlines.
- CRM and data driven approach to pipeline management and reporting.
