Cleaning Melbourne is a well-established commercial cleaning business with a strong footprint in Local Government. We're now focused on growing our private-sector portfolio across Commercial, Strata, Retail, Industrial, Education, Transport and Medical.

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who can open doors, build trusted relationships, and convert opportunities into long-term service contracts. This role is highly autonomous and works closely with senior leadership to shape our growth strategy.

The role
n
You'll own the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close, and ensure a smooth handover into operations so sites launch well and clients stay for the long term.

Key responsibilities
n
n
- Build and manage a strong pipeline across target sectors (end users, facility managers, property/strata managers and procurement)
n
- Proactively generate new opportunities (networking, outreach, referrals, warm leads)
n
- Run discovery meetings and site inspections to understand scope and client needs
n
- Prepare and present proposals, pricing and service solutions (and tenders where required)
n
- Negotiate commercial terms and close sustainable, profitable contracts
n
- Maintain accurate activity, forecasting and opportunity notes in the CRM
n
- Coordinate handover and mobilisation with operations to ensure a strong start and high client satisfaction
n

About you
n
4–5+ years' B2B business development experience in commercial cleaning, facilities, soft services, security, maintenance or similar
n
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets and winning longer-term contracts
n
Strong relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills
n
Commercial mindset: understands pricing, margin and delivery realities
n
Disciplined and organised with strong follow-up habits and CRM hygiene
n
Current driver's licence and willingness to meet clients on-site
n
