For nearly forty years SCEA has been a part of the Christianeducational community of Perth since its humble beginnings inMidland in 1982. Today, Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA)is a not-for-profit association with more than 5,000 students, morethan 1000 staff and seven schools across the Perth metropolitanarea.

We invite applications to be a part of SCEA's Relief Grounds andMaintenance register. You can nominate to work at any of our sevenschools.

n

You will maintain and enhance the school's grounds,buildings, and facilities to the highest standards of safety,presentation, and functionality, ensuring a clean, well-keptenvironment that supports teaching, learning, and theschool's reputation for excellence.

n

This is more than just a groundsman position – it's acalling to represent Christ through service, to draw out the beautyof God's creation, and support the flourishing of our schoolcommunities.

n

Key Responsibilities Include:

n

n
- Undertake general maintenance activities of grounds,facilities, buildings, equipment and associated fixtures andfittings by carrying out required repairs and completingscheduled maintenance where the work is not required to becompleted by a qualified trade person (eg DIY / handyman taskssuch as door handle / door lock repairs, minor plumbing,paving, manufacturing, fabricating and/or repairing furnitureand equipment, reticulation etc.).

- Morning clean-up of litter, leaves and debris frompathways, external building areas and carparks etc.
n
- Carry out gardening and landscaping tasks includingpruning, trimming, mowing, edging, planting, spreading mulchand fertilisers, spraying weed killers, and removingdebris.
n
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks,



includinglitter removal, emptying bins, attending to spills andbreakages, oval marking, and assisting with event setups.
n
- Assisting with the relocation and delivery of resources,equipment, office and classroom furniture.
n
- Other duties as requested by the Business Manager orPrincipal.

Selection Criteria:

n

n
- To have a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ andbe an active member of a Christian Church.
n
- To accept the Association's Statement of Faith,Foundational Statements of Belief and Educational Objectivesand be living a lifestyle consistent with thesestatements.
n
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks,lifting, and handling equipment.
n
- Skills that enable the completion minor maintenanceprojects and operation of general maintenance equipment.
n
- The ability to be self-starting, work efficiently andeffectively.
n
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively as partof a team to support staff, students and the wider schoolcommunity.
n
- Current Working with Children Check, Department ofEducation Criminal History Check, and Drivers licence –Class 'C' (or willingness to obtain).

- Suitable qualifications and experience in the field ofgrounds maintenance is advantageous but not essential.
n
- An awareness of occupational health and safety issues.
