$40 to $50 per hour full time plus super, or $60 to $75 per hour if you are on your own ABN. Your call, we are open to either.

We are putting on a few carpenters, so whether you are a solid all-round chippy or a solid leading hand ready to run a crew, there is a spot here worth talking about.

RAW Structures is a residential builder based in Moana. We do renovations, extensions and design-and-construct work on existing homes. No two jobs are the same, and no two weeks look alike.

The work

Real houses with real problems. Cutting into existing structures, matching old to new, setting out where nothing is square and nothing is level.

Across a week you could be on first fix, second fix, renovation work, demolition and strip-out, cladding, decks, pergolas, framing, roofing and fit-off. If you like variety, you will get it.

Cladding is a decent slice of what we do. Scyon and fibre cement, weatherboard, timber and composite. If you have run plenty of it, tell us, because that skill is worth money to us. If you have only done a bit, that is fine too. We will get you across it.

If you have spent the last few years on volume housing, doing the same three plans over and over, this is the opposite of that.

Our work is south of the city, so if you live south you are not burning an hour each way.

What you get

Who we are after We are hiring for two things at once.

A strong leading hand. Someone who can run a crew, set the pace, sort problems on site and keep the job moving without being chased. If that is you, say so in your application. It is worth more money and more scope, and we will have that conversation with you on day one.

Capable qualified tradesmen. Carpenters who are solid across the range: first and second fix, renovation work, demolition, cladding, decks, pergolas. You do not need to be the strongest at all of them. Be strong at a few and willing on the rest, and we want to hear from you.

What we need from you

- Cert III in Carpentry and a current White Card.
- Real experience on renovation or extension work. You can read a set of plans and set out off them without being walked through it.
- Your own hand and power tools, and a reliable way to get yourself and your gear to site.
- Driver's licence.
- You do it properly the first time. We build for clients who notice the difference, and our reputation is the only marketing we have.
- You use your head. Renos throw up surprises, and we want blokes who can look at something, form a view and speak up, not stand there waiting.
- If you are coming on ABN: your own public liability, your own insurances, and an ABN that is actually current.
