The Opportunity
With our busy Spring Racing Carnival and event calendar fast approaching, we’re looking to strengthen our casual culinary teamand build a diverse pool of talented kitchen professionals we can call on across our operations. We’re looking for people with a range of skills and experience, from kitchen attendants through to experienced chefs and pastry specialists.
We are particularly interested in hearing from:
- Kitchen Hands / Kitchen Attendants
- Cooks and Chefs with à la carte experience
- Cooks and Chefs with conferencing, functions or events experience
- Pastry Chefs with relevant pastry experience
Candidates will be considered based on their individual experience, qualifications and the areas of our operation they are best suited to. Whether you’re an experienced chef looking for flexible work, a cook wanting to broaden your experience, or a kitchen attendant looking to build your hospitality career, we’d love to hear from you.
Our casual culinary team supports a variety of operations across Morphettville, including race days, restaurants, bars, functions, conferences, events and other hospitality services.
There may also be opportunities to work during our busier periods and major events throughout the year.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your experience and level, your responsibilities may include:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a high standard
- Supporting the kitchen team with preparation, service and cleaning
- Delivering consistent food quality across busy service periods
- Working across restaurants, bars, functions, conferences and events
- Assisting with à la carte, buffet and event-style food service
- Supporting pastry production and presentation, where relevant
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Working collaboratively with chefs, cooks, kitchen attendants and front-of-house teams
- Adapting to different kitchen environments and operational requirements
- Contributing to a positive, professional and team-focused workplace
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking culinary professionals who have a genuine passion for food and hospitality and take pride in delivering a high standard of work. Depending on the role, you may bring:
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, hospitality or food service environment
- À la carte cooking experience
- Conferencing, functions, events or large-volume catering experience
- Pastry experience and relevant qualifications
- Relevant culinary qualifications, where applicable
- A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workplace
- A professional attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to the team
- The ability to adapt to different venues, kitchens and service styles
