Accounts Administration Officer – Full Time
Are you highly organised, confident with numbers and ready to build your skills in an accounts-focused role?
Elvery’s Electrical is looking for an Accounts Administration Officer to join our Bundaberg office.
This is a permanent, full-time Monday-to-Friday position. It may suit an experienced accounts administrator or bookkeeper, but we are also open to a capable administrator who has strong attention to detail, learns quickly and is ready to develop their accounts experience.
You do not need to have used every system or completed every responsibility listed below. Training will be provided to the right person.

The Role
This is an accounts-focused administration role supporting the accurate and timely financial administration of our business.
Depending on your experience and training, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and issuing customer invoices
- Reviewing job information, labour, materials and supporting documentation before invoicing
- Following up tradespeople and office staff for missing or unclear information
- Processing supplier invoices
- Assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
- Allocating customer payments, credits and overpayments
- Following up outstanding customer accounts
- Responding to account enquiries from customers and suppliers
- Maintaining accurate customer, job and financial records
- Completing day-to-day accounts tasks in Xero
- Maintaining job and invoicing information in Fergus
- Managing accounts-related emails
- Supporting the wider office team during busy periods
As you become familiar with the position, you will be encouraged to take greater ownership of the accounts processes within your area of responsibility.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is accurate, reliable and willing to learn.
To be successful in the position, you will need:
- Previous experience in administration, accounts, bookkeeping,
customer service or a similar office-based role
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work
- Confidence working with numbers, invoices and customer information
- Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence following up customers, suppliers and internal staff
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility for your work
- The ability to follow established procedures and ask questions when unsure
- The ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team
Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded, but you do not need to have experience across every area:
- Customer invoicing
- Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable
- Supplier-statement reconciliations
- Payment allocations, credits or debt collection
- Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
- Trade, construction or service-based administration
- Fergus or another job-management system
- Bookkeeping, finance or business administration qualifications
Training will be provided in Fergus, our invoicing workflow and the internal accounts processes relevant to the position.
This role will suit someone who is prepared to put in the effort, receive feedback and steadily build their capability and responsibilities.
