Komatsu Mining Technologies (KMT) is seeking a values-led, commercially minded Human Resources Business Partner to provide trusted HR advice and support to an allocated work groups across our Australian operations. Reporting to the National HR Manager, you'll work as a trusted partner to leaders and employees, delivering support across employee relations, industrial relations, workforce planning, performance, engagement, change, policy application and HR systems. Your ability to build strong partnerships, provide sound advice and use data to identify people priorities will help Komatsu remain agile, compliant and aligned to business needs. You'll play a key role in strengthening leader confidence, supporting effective workplace change, and ensuring HR programs are implemented consistently across your allocated work groups. You'll also work closely with a team-oriented national and global HR team, partnering with specialists across payroll and remuneration, organisational development, health and safety, to deliver seamless business-facing support.
Key responsibilities
Develop effective HR partnerships with leaders and stakeholders
Work with functional leaders to develop and implement people plans, priorities and initiatives aligned to business needs
Coach and support leaders to build their leadership capability
Provide front-line IR/ER advice and support, including consultation, investigations, grievances, conflict resolution and employee relations matters
Support workforce planning and talent management
Provide advice and guidance to leaders and employees on HR policies, processes, systems and legislative requirements
Partner with recruitment, payroll, OD, remuneration, EHS and other specialist teams to deliver consistent and effective HR support
Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, surveys, change activity and culture-building programs
About you
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or a related discipline
3+ years' experience across HR, ideally within mining, heavy manufacturing or a related industrial environment
Demonstrated experience providing practical IR/ER advice, supporting investigations, consultation processes and workplace change
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, HR policies and contemporary people practices
Proven ability to build trusted relationships, coach leaders and influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups
Experience supporting workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, engagement and organisational change
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence using HR systems, data and reporting to inform decision-making
A proactive, values-based approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operating environment
