To drive business growth for coal vessel survey, draft survey, and cargo inspection services

across Queensland's major coal export ports by securing vessel nominations, building

n

strategic relationships with miners, traders, and shipping companies, and increasing market

n

share in the marine survey segment.

n

Queensland handles significant coal exports through major terminals such as: Port of Gladstone

n

Hay Point Coal Terminal Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Abbot Point

n

Responsibilities

n

1. Business Development : Secure coal vessel survey nominations and achieve annual revenue targets in Queensland ports.

n

2. Key Account Management : Manage relationships with miners, exporters, traders, terminals, and ship agents in Gladstone & Mackay.

n

3. Port Marketing : Track vessel line-ups, coordinate nominations, and position company as preferred coal surveyor.

n

4. Commercial & Tenders : Handle RFQs, prepare pricing, and negotiate long-term vessel-based contracts.

n

5. Market Intelligence : Monitor Queensland coal exports, competitor activity,



and Asia-bound cargo trends.

n

6. Operations Coordination : Ensure 24/7 surveyor deployment, schedule alignment, and issue resolution at port level.

n

7. Branding : Represent company in industry forums and promote marine survey & coal inspection services.

n

Qualifications

n

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing / Marine / Mining / Logistics / Business

n

MBA (Marketing or International Business) preferred Experience:

n

8–15 years in:

n

n
- Coal inspection
n
- Marine survey
n
- Cargo inspection
n
- Shipping/logistics (bulk commodities)
n

n

Strong network in Queensland coal ports is highly preferred

n

Key Skills Required

n

Robust network with ship agents and exporters

n

Knowledge of draft survey and coal inspection standards (ISO/ASTM)

n

Port operations and vessel scheduling knowledge

n

Strategic business development in bulk commodity sector
