Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of Italian and Australian-style dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu and recipes.
- Prepare pizzas, burgers, chicken dishes, seafood, pasta, starters, salads, sides and other menu items.
- Prepare ingredients including meat, poultry, seafood and vegetables by cutting, marinating, portioning and seasoning.
- Ensure food is cooked to the required standards, with appropriate taste, quality, portion size and presentation.
- Assist with menu planning, developing new dishes and preparing daily specials using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
- Monitor food stock,



assist with ordering supplies and ensure proper storage of food and ingredients.
- Coordinate kitchen preparation and cooking during busy service periods to ensure orders are completed efficiently.
- Supervise and guide kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking methods, portion control and presentation.
- Monitor food wastage and assist with maintaining efficient food and kitchen costs.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety throughout the kitchen.
- Ensure kitchen equipment, utensils and preparation areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Follow all relevant food safety, workplace health and safety and restaurant procedures.

Skill & Experience The successful applicant must hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and have at least one year of relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen or restaurant.
