About the Role

n

We are hiring for one of our clients, a leader in digital transformation and enterprise technology solutions and transformation drivers within the water and utilities domain. Our client is hiring a Institutional Banking and Payment Consultant to lead and grow consulting engagements across the ANZ BFSI portfolio, with a focus on Payments and Institutional Banking domains. In this dual role—as the Client Engagement Partner (CEP) and Consulting Lead—you will play a pivotal part in defining transformation roadmaps, leading delivery, and advising C-suite stakeholders for strategic banking clients.

This is a high-impact role requiring deep subject matter expertise, strong consulting capability, and a track record of managing complex digital and regulatory transformations in financial services. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, digital technology, and regulatory change, shaping future-ready solutions for top institutional banks and payments providers.

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
- Lead the consulting business for Payments and Institutional Banking client accounts across Australia and New Zealand.
n
- Define and drive a consulting-led growth agenda aligned with strategic priorities of key banking clients.
n
- Shape and deliver engagements across digital, regulatory, and platform transformation programs.
n
- Partner with business and technology leaders to build strategic roadmaps across Institutional Lending, Payments, and Banking modernisation.
n
- Own key stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to CxO-level decision-makers.
n
- Contribute to global and local capability development in Payments and Institutional Banking consulting.
n
- Develop thought leadership, frameworks, and accelerators to support zero-touch operations, AI/ML adoption, and compliance innovation.
n
- Collaborate cross-functionally to win new business and ensure successful execution of transformation initiatives.
n




- Mentor and lead project teams and contribute to talent development in the BFSI consulting practice.

Key Requirements:

n

n
- 12+ years of consulting experience, with at least 5 years focused on BFSI—particularly Payments and/or Institutional Banking.
n
- Proven experience in top-tier consulting firms or in-house transformation roles at leading banks or fintechs.
n
- Strong understanding of institutional banking processes, payment flows, digital platforms, and regulatory frameworks.
n
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex client engagements and consultative sales cycles.
n
- Exceptional client-facing skills, with the ability to engage at the executive level.
n
- Deep knowledge of emerging trends in banking technology, including AI, ML, and open banking.
n
- Strategic thinking with solid problem-solving, communication, and team leadership capabilities.
n

Preferred Qualifications:

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related fields; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
n
- Experience working with Australian banks or regulatory bodies (e.g., APRA, AUSTRAC) is a strong advantage.
n




- Familiarity with core banking systems, real-time payments platforms, or enterprise fintech solutions.
