About the Role
You will play a key role within the Hospitality division, managing accounting and tax compliance work while becoming involved in the broader financial and commercial needs of your clients.
You will also support budgeting, cash flow forecasting and scenario planning, while assisting Managers and Partners with advisory projects and client meetings.
A significant component of the position is mentoring and developing junior accountants, helping to build technical capability and contributing to the overall performance of the team.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, income tax returns and BAS/IAS
- Supporting hospitality clients with budgeting, cash flow forecasting and scenario planning
- Considering operational factors including seasonality, events and staffing/roster impacts
- Assisting Managers and Partners with advisory projects and client meetings
- Managing workflow and coordinating task allocation to ensure work is delivered on time
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and workflow efficiencies
- Mentoring, coaching and developing junior team members
- Maintaining clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders
- Managing deadlines, budgets and client expectations
- Escalating issues early and providing proactive solutions
About You
You will have:
- 4–5+ years' experience in Australian public practice or Business Services
- Relevant accounting degree and CA qualified, with completion of the CA program preferred
- Strong technical knowledge across accounting standards and Australian taxation, including income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax and land tax
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and compliance work
- Robust client relationship and communication skills
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior accountants
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- A proactive mindset and willingness to embrace change and improve processes
- The confidence to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
