River at Crooked River Estate – Gerringong, NSW

Crooked River Estate is looking for talented and enthusiastic chefs to join the kitchen team at River, our recently opened restaurant,cellar door and wedding venue in Gerringong on the NSW South Coast.

Following a major redevelopment of Crooked River Estate, River is an exciting new dining destination showcasing great food, estate-grown wine and one of the South Coast's most spectacular locations.

- Chef de Partie

- Demi Chef de Partie

- Commis Chef

The roles

Working as part of our qualified kitchen team, you will assist in delivering a consistently high standard of food across our restaurant, cellar door and events operation.

Depending on your level of experience, responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and cooking dishes to the required standard

- Managing or assisting with your allocated section

- Maintaining consistency, presentation and portion control

- Supporting mise en place and preparation for service

- Working closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chefs and wider kitchen team

- Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation

- Assisting with stock rotation, storage and minimising waste

- Contributing positively to a busy, professional and enjoyable kitchen environment

About you

We are looking for people who:

- Take pride in the food they produce

- Have a genuine interest in developing their skills and career

- Work well as part of a team





- Are reliable, organised and calm during busy services

- Have strong attention to detail

- Understand the importance of consistency and presentation

- Are prepared to work weekends as part of a hospitality roster

For Chef de Partie and Demi Chef applicants, previous experience in a quality restaurant, events venues or similar kitchen environment is preferred.

For the Commis Chef position, we are equally interested in attitude and potential. This is a great opportunity for a developing chef who wants to learn from an experienced team and build their career in a serious restaurant kitchen.
