ABOUT US The CRCC is an independent, non-government, not-for-profit, feminist organisation, established fifty years ago. It is the specialist sexual violence service for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounds. Our services include crisis support, counselling and advocacy. The CRCC also delivers education and training and engages with governments and other organisations to drive systemic change in responses to sexual violence. Its clinical services are completely free of charge.
NOTE: This is a woman-only position under s 33B of the Discrimination Act (ACT) 1991 and is a genuine occupational qualification for the position.
ROLE The CRCC is looking for an experienced and inspiring leader who can manage high quality and timely delivery of services to the highest professional and ethical standards. Our next CEO will continue to develop an exceptional and professional staff culture and ensure ongoing revenue streams for financial sustainability. Improved data collection and effective outcomes reporting will also be a strong focus.
The CEO also plays a crucial role in positioning the CRCC as a consistent, effective and valued voice of advocacy for those affected by sexual violence. This includes strong collaboration and relationships with the ACT Government, other providers such as the Australian Federal Police, courts and domestic violence crisis services.
We are seeking an influential and collaborative leader, who can work effectively with a small Board and manage finances and operations while maintaining a focus on long term strategic priorities. We seek a CEO who will develop lasting, positive and effective relationships with stakeholders and staff.
This role provides a unique opportunity to strengthen and grow the CRCC’s capacity, capabilities and reputation based on feminist values of diversity, human dignity, equality, and fairness. It will be a challenging and rewarding role assuring the right candidate of the personal satisfaction of taking the CRCC into its sixth decade of providing life-changing support to victim-survivors of sexual violence.
ABOUT YOU
You will have proven ability and experience to:
● effectively manage and grow an organisation, delivering timely service delivery to the highest professional and ethical standards.
● lead, develop and retain the right staff with a positive workplace culture
● achieve stable and diverse revenue streams – including seeking alternative sources of revenue through government grants, philanthropic or corporate support – to maintain a strong financial position underpinned by a tightly focussed annual budget
● relate to and influence people at all levels and achieve high level credibility and enduring relationships with stakeholders
● create effective outcomes reporting for services and activities
● be the face of CRCC to deliver powerful advocacy in multiple forums and with high-quality written submissions
● personal interest and life experience in social policy with a focus on families,
domestic and family violence, sexual violence and victim survivor wellbeing.
SELECTION CRITERIA The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills and the ability to achieve CRCC’s mission and objectives through:
● sound business acumen, financial literacy and judgement and ability to think strategically to achieve long term financial stability through diverse revenue streams
● strong leadership, drive and commitment to motivate and support dedicated staff to deliver day-to- day operations, projects/programs and individual events
● excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills and demonstrated skill in maintaining maintain strong collaborative relationships
● ability to advocate for change and be an effective public face for the CRCC
● engaging positively with and providing timely, high-quality reporting to the Board
● strong and focused governance, legal, risk and financial management, including compliance with relevant legislation.
