About the Role:
Recruitmark is partnering with a well-established, growing family-run business on the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer to play a pivotal role in its next phase of growth.
This is more than a traditional finance leadership role. Working closely with the founders and Board, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the financial strategy, strengthen the foundations of the business, and influence key commercial decisions as the organisation continues to scale.
As a trusted strategic partner, you’ll bring the right balance of commercial thinking, financial discipline and entrepreneurial energy, providing the insight and structure needed to support sustainable growth while maintaining the agility and culture that have helped drive the business to date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnering with the Directors to develop and execute the company's financial strategy, supporting sustainable growth and long-term business objectives.
- Leading the implementation and optimisation of ERP systems, driving process improvements, strengthening financial controls, and improving operational efficiency.
- Providing commercial insights through financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Strengthening financial governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks while embedding financial discipline across the organisation.
- Building and leading a high-performing finance function,
collaborating with operational leaders to improve business performance, profitability, and scalability.
About You:
- 10+ years’ experience as a CFO or in senior finance leadership, with a proven track record of partnering with founders, Boards and executive stakeholders in a hands-on, commercially focused capacity.
- Commercial, forward-looking and growth-oriented mindset, with demonstrated experience helping businesses scale, improve performance and make informed strategic decisions.
- Proven track record in growing a business, ideally within a project, contracting, construction, industrial or otherwise operationally complex environment.
- Solid financial and transformation capability, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, modelling, governance, compliance, ERP implementation, process improvement and the development of scalable financial systems.
- Credible experience with significant business transactions, such as an IPO, sale, acquisition, integration or other major corporate transaction, strongly preferred.
- Energetic, confident and pragmatic leadership style, with the ability to balance corporate discipline with hands-on leadership, build high-performing teams, influence decisions, channel entrepreneurial energy and demonstrate genuine commitment to a long-term role.
**Applicants must be Australian/New Zealand citizens or have Permanent Residency.
