Balwyn Health Care is seeking a dedicated, flexible and compassionate General Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team in Balwyn, VIC. This is a permanent part-time position that offers flexibility whilst making a genuine difference in the lives of our patients. Balwyn Health Care is a busy general practice in Melbourne's leafy eastern suburbs. Ample parking onsite, next door and opposite. Neighbouring shops include cafes, pharmacy, supermarket, newsagent and post office.

We are seeking a nurse for 3-4 days per FORTNIGHT plus occasional additional days to cover your nurse colleagues just as they will cover you.

We have been in Balwyn for over 40 years and our nine GPs, four nurses, practice manager and seven receptionists are enthusiastic about the diverse range of services we provide.As one of our four General Practice Nurses, you will be at the heart of our primary healthcare delivery, supporting our GPs and providing essential nursing care to our diverse patient population. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of care that we have become known for and you will play a crucial part in ensuring our patients receive comprehensive, quality healthcare services.

Our nurses work family friendly hours, do not work evenings or weekends and do not work on public holidays.

What you'll be doing:-

Vaccinating, Care plans, Taking blood for path, wound care and dressings, ECG's, Immunizations, iron infusions,

Assisting GPs with clinical procedures and examinations

Recording patient observations including blood pressure, temperature, weight and other vital signs

Conducting health screening and preventative health checks

Reminders and recalls





Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and documentation

Educating patients on health promotion, disease prevention and self-care management

Liaising with other healthcare professionals and coordinating referrals as needed

Stock ordering and ensuring the clinical environment is clean, safe and properly stocked with necessary supplies

Supporting the practice team to deliver efficient and compassionate patient care

What we're looking for:-

Current Australian nursing registration (Registered Nurse) with AHPRA

A recognised nursing qualification from an Australian or internationally accredited institution

Experience working in a general practice or primary healthcare setting (preferred)

Best Practice clinical software experience (preferred)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds

IMPORTANT - ability to pick up an occasional day and cover other team members personal or annual leave

Excellent organisational and time management abilities

Proficiency with medical practice management systems and electronic health records

A commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with nursing practice

The ability to work effectively within a small team environment

A genuine passion for patient care and health promotion





PAY:- The position is a permanent part time position.

The current hourly rate is $47.20 and this is adjusted on the 1st July every year.

On top of this you receive 12% superannuation.

Holiday leave and personal leave with 17.5% loading are included and hopefully long service leave eventually.
