About the role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cleaner (Environmental Services) to join our friendly team at Cooinda as a casual position covering a fixed term period between September 2026 to January 2027 with potential of ongoing employment. In this vital role, you will help maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across our aged care facility and community spaces. Working collaboratively with the Environmental Services team, you'll ensure a safe, comfortable, and homely setting for residents, staff, and visitors — contributing directly to the wellbeing and quality of life of those who call Cooinda home.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment in resident rooms, common areas, offices, and outdoor spaces.
- Follow infection control and OH&S; procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and duty lists, ensuring all areas meet accreditation and quality standards.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and maintain cleaning equipment in good condition.
- Assist with urgent cleaning tasks as required and work cooperatively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

About you

- Experience in cleaning within healthcare or aged care environments (preferred).




- Understanding of cleaning chemicals and associated Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Knowledge of infection control practices and safe work procedures.
- Reliable, well-organised, and able to manage time effectively.
- Friendly, respectful, and able to work safely around older people, including those living with dementia.
- Committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and positive environment.
- Experience in laundry services would be desirable but not essential.
