Role details The Referrals Management Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities are predominantly clinical in nature but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities. The CN provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.

About The Team The MHHS Referral Management Unit fosters a patient-centred, dynamic,



and sustainable multidisciplinary service designed to enhance access to the appropriate care at the right time. By employing an integrated partnership approach among community, primary, and secondary care providers, the Mackay MHHS Referral Management Unit acts as a central hub for managing all external and internal referrals. This streamlined process ensures efficient coordination and delivery of high-quality services.
