Role Description
This full-time, in office Clinical Research Assistant role is based in Wahroonga, NSW. As a Clinical Research Assistant, you will support the implementation and management of clinical trials by assisting in patient recruitment, screening, and consent processes. You will maintain accurate study documentation, liaise with clinical staff, and ensure compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with participant screening, informed consent, and coordinating study visits.
- Performing and assisting with clinical procedures and sample collection (e.g., blood collection, ECGs, and vital signs).
- Managing accurate data collection, source documentation, and electronic data capture (EDC) entry.
- Coordinating patient follow-ups and liaising with investigators, multidisciplinary staff, and trial monitors.
- Supporting sample processing, handling, and basic laboratory workflows in accordance with study protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Relevant Education: Degree or qualification in Health Sciences, Nursing, Clinical Research, or a related biomedical field.
- Clinical Skills (Highly Regarded): Practical experience in venepuncture / blood collection, conducting 12-lead ECGs, and measuring blood pressure / vital signs.
- Clinical Trial Knowledge: Familiarity with research methodologies, ICH-GCP guidelines, and medical terminology.
- Laboratory Proficiency: Basic laboratory skills relevant to clinical trials (e.g., sample centrifugation, processing, and packaging).
- Communication & Interpersonal: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with trial participants and collaborate effectively within a clinical team.
- Organization & Compliance: High attention to detail for managing source documents, logs, and protocol adherence.
- Experience: Prior experience in clinical trials, hospital, or healthcare clinic environments is advantageous.
