We're partnering with a major Australian enterprise to find a hands-on Cloud Engineer to join its Cloud Operations team and help operate, automate and continuously improve a large Microsoft Azure environment.

This isn't a purely BAU or ticket-driven CloudOps role. You'll work across day-to-day cloud operations alongside automation, security, observability, FinOps and project initiatives, with increasing exposure to AI-assisted operations and AIOps.

The Opportunity

You'll join an established Cloud Operations function responsible for the reliability, security and ongoing improvement of Azure services across production and non-production environments.

Working alongside CloudOps, Software Engineering, Security, Integration and Data teams, you'll get exposure across:

- Azure IaaS and PaaS services
- Infrastructure as Code and automation
- Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell and Ansible
- Kubernetes / AKS
- GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights
- Cloud security and Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- SRE, observability and incident improvement
- FinOps and cloud cost optimisation
- AI-assisted operations and emerging AIOps capabilities

You'll also support project and product teams to ensure new cloud workloads are secure, observable, resilient and operationally ready before going live.

Ideally,



you'll have 3+ years' experience across Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, Infrastructure, DevOps, or a similar hands-on environment.

We're particularly interested in experience across:

- Strong Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services
- Terraform, Bicep or other Infrastructure as Code tooling
- PowerShell and infrastructure automation
- Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or CI/CD pipelines
- Azure networking, identity, security and monitoring
- Kubernetes / AKS exposure
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or Application Insights
- Cloud security, SRE or FinOps practices

You don't need to tick every box. More important is a solid Azure foundation, an automation mindset and the ability to learn and adapt as the environment continues to evolve.
