Role Description This part-time remote Cloud Engineer role at Iniciativa Mundial Ingeniería del Futuro (IMIF) focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services.

The Cloud

Engineer will build and optimize deployment pipelines, manage environments across development and production, and ensure reliability, scalability, and security of cloud solutions. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and monitoring cloud resources, administering Linux-based servers, managing databases, and supporting software development teams with infrastructure-as-code and automation. The role involves troubleshooting performance and availability issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams on architecture decisions, and documenting systems and processes for ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong cloud computing and infrastructure skills, including experience with cloud platforms, virtual networks, storage, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Candidates should possess software development skills, such as scripting or programming for automation,



CI/CD pipelines, and integration with cloud services.
- Candidates should possess Linux administration skills, including system configuration, monitoring, and security hardening in server and cloud environments.
- Candidates should possess database skills, including design, configuration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery for relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Candidates should ideally have knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), basic networking concepts, and cloud security best practices.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication, and the capacity to work independently in a remote, collaborative workplace.
- A relevant technical degree or equivalent practical experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or software infrastructure is highly beneficial, along with industry certifications in major cloud platforms.
