CNC Machinist / Fitter Assembler / Repairer

Volley Recruitment is currently seeking skilled and experienced CNC Machinists and Mechanical Fitters for opportunities with the same well-established engineering and manufacturing client based in West Lakes, Adelaide.

These are hands-on roles suited to tradespeople who take pride in quality workmanship, precision, problem-solving and working with machinery and engineered components.

There are opportunities across CNC machining, mechanical fitting, assembly, repair and hydraulic systems, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates with a broad mechanical skill set.

About the Roles

Depending on your experience and skill set, your responsibilities may include:

- Programming, setting up and operating CNC machinery
- Writing and modifying CNC programs for complex components
- Selecting appropriate tooling, jigs, fixtures and machining methods
- Setting speeds, feeds, tool offsets and cutting depths
- Conducting dry runs, first-off checks and precision measurements
- Measuring components using micrometers, Vernier calipers and gauges
- Working to tight tolerances, fits and surface finishes
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of machinery and components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, job travellers and work instructions
- Installing and working with hydraulic components, tubes and hoses
- Drilling, tapping, cutting, threading and fitting components
- Dismantling machinery and fault-finding defective components
- Repairing, reassembling and testing machinery
- Using lifting equipment safely when positioning heavy components
- Identifying tooling, machine and production issues




- Maintaining accurate job and production records
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
- Following all WHS procedures and safe work practices

About You We are looking for experienced tradespeople with skills in one or more of the following areas:

- CNC Machining / CNC Programming
- Mechanical Fitting
- Fitter & Turner
- Fitter Assembler
- Mechanical Assembly & Repair
- Hydraulic Systems

Ideally, you will have:
- Relevant Certificate III trade qualification or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in your area of trade
- Strong mechanical and/or CNC machining skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances and precision workmanship
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to safety
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic
