Breakaway Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation based in Bunbury, committed to improving the wellbeing of Aboriginal people, families and communities across the South West. Working in partnership with Anglicare WA, we deliver culturally responsive programs that support positive outcomes for individuals and families while promoting safety, respect and community wellbeing.
About the role An exciting opportunity has become available for a Men's Behaviour Change Co-Facilitator to join a dedicated team delivering evidence-based family and domestic violence intervention programs across the South West.
This role works closely with participants, service providers and community stakeholders to support accountability, behaviour change and safer outcomes for women, children and families. The position is based in Bunbury and provides the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and lasting change within the community.
Key responsibilities
- Co-facilitate Men's Behaviour Change Groups and Caring Dads programs.
- Conduct client intake, screening and assessment processes.
- Complete risk assessments and contribute to safety planning.
- Provide individual support, counselling and motivational interviewing sessions.
- Monitor participant engagement, progress and behaviour change outcomes.
- Maintain accurate case notes, client records and program data.
- Prepare reports and documentation within required timeframes.
- Liaise with referral agencies and community stakeholders.
- Participate in case management meetings, skilled supervision and ongoing development.
- Deliver services in a culturally safe and responsive manner,
particularly for Aboriginal participants.
What we're looking for
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Social Science or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of family and domestic violence issues and their impact on victims, perpetrators and children.
- Strong counselling, engagement and group facilitation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively with Aboriginal people and culturally diverse communities.
- Strong organisational, record-keeping and time-management skills.
- A current Driver's License, National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
