Job Description

Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane is looking for an experienced Kitchen Steward with a positive, flexible outlook and effective communication skills to join our kitchen brigade. As a Steward, you will oversee the hotel back of house operation by ensuring the highest level of attention to the cleanliness and sanitation of all food and storage outlets. This is a casual position. The position is paid under Hospitality Award, Kitchen Attendant Level 2 - $33.85 per hour plus applicable penalties.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

n

Maintain the cleanliness and organisation as instructed by the Executive Chef of the freezer, fridges and dry stores

n

Ensure and maintain cleanliness of the general kitchen, kitchen utensils and kitchen equipment.

n

Washing dishes and cutlery

n

Clean and stack correctly as instructed of all the hotel's crockery, cutlery and pots and pans.

n

Operate the commercial dishwasher

n





Cleaning the kitchen walls, benches and floors

n

Receiving and delivering stock

n

REQUIREMENTS:

n

An energetic and positive approach to getting the job done in a fast paced setting

n

Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment

n

Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions

n

Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays

n

Previous experience in a hotel would be advantageous

n

Must be available for an immediate start
