The Opportunity

As part of the Customer Assist, Servicing and Operations unit within the Risk & Governance Division of La Trobe Financial, you will be responsible for managing, a portfolio of loan accounts in default (whether monetary or non-monetary).

Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with borrowers/guarantors or their representatives, to identify reasons why they are unable to meet their obligations and apply an appropriate strategy with view of achieving resolutions through tailored solutions.

You will work with stakeholders across the organisation to resolve customer matters including Credit, Construction & Development Team, Settlements, Discharges and Asset Management.

In addition, you will work closely with external vendors such as solicitors, insolvency practitioners, property presenters and external referral partners. You will share knowledge and provide guidance to other employees, provide customer service excellence and ensure that La Trobe Financial's values are reflected at all times.

Key Responsibilities

- Case Administration: Actively monitoring and maintaining a portfolio of loan accounts in default ensuring all that all loans within the portfolio have a firm strategy in place and adhere to default management procedures and guidelines including the maintenance of accurate up to date records or file notes.





Review and collaborate with external partners in relation to corporate insolvency appointments, including liquidations, voluntary administrations and receiverships.

- Financial and Investigative Analysis: Analyse financial statements, customer documentation and other records to identify causes of default, possible insolvency and potential risks (where possible). Support asset realisation processes through obtaining valuations, raising provisions (where required) and instructing external parties in relation to the sale of any assets.

- Stakeholder management: Engage with directors/shareholders, creditors, employees, regulators and legal representatives in a professional and timely manner, provide clear and accurate information to stakeholders to support trust and transparency. Compliance and risk management with internal policies and legislation.

- Teamwork and development: Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve case outcomes; share knowledge and provide guidance to other staff where required; participate in training development and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline are desirable

- Prior experience in insolvency, restructuring, or commercial accounting environment is desirable, particularly in banking and finance restructuring teams

- Experience in dealing with insolvencies including controller or receiver and manager appointments is desirable.

- Understanding of insolvency law, financial reporting, and statutory obligations.





- Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify solutions. Analyse company financial statements and records to identify solvency indicators and recovery options.

- Expert level of review accuracy in compliance documentation and reporting.

- Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.

- Demonstrates ethical judgement and confidentiality.

- Applies initiative to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

- Works effectively as part of a team and contribute to shared goals but also work autonomously.
