Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre Inc. (MRNC) is a community-based organisation supporting individuals, families, volunteers and community groups across the Mid Richmond area. About the Role

MRNC is seeking a motivated and community-minded Trainee to join our team in a supervised learning role. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in community services, enjoys helping people and is ready to build practical workplace skills while completing a Certificate in Community Services.

The trainee will support the Services Manager and Centre Services staff with reception, administration, community activities, basic enquiries, referrals and program support. This is not an independent casework or assessment role; all duties will be matched to the trainee’s current skills, training and level of supervision.

What You’ll Do

- Complete required course work, workplace training and assessments.

- Welcome community members and assist with basic enquiries, messages and referrals under supervision.

- Assist with reception, phone calls, bookings, data entry, records and routine administration.

- Help staff prepare and deliver approved programs,



groups and community activities.

- Communicate respectfully with community members, staff, volunteers and other services.

- Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries and accurate records.

- Follow MRNC policies, safety procedures, child-safe practices and incident-reporting requirements.

- Attend induction, training, supervision, staff meetings and performance reviews.

About You

You do not need previous community services experience to apply. We are looking for someone who is reliable, respectful, willing to learn and genuinely interested in supporting people and community connection.

To be successful, you will need:

- Willingness and ability to enrol in and complete the approved Certificate in Community Services.

- A genuine interest in helping people and learning about community services.

- Clear, polite and respectful communication skills.

- Basic computer skills, or willingness to learn.

- Ability to follow instructions, ask questions and accept feedback.

- Current Drivers licence and ability to travel across the region.

- Current or ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, plus any other checks required by MRNC.
