Role DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Team Lead to oversee compliance activities, strengthen internal controls, and support the organization in maintaining adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards. The role involves leading the compliance team, monitoring regulatory developments, identifying compliance risks, and providing practical guidance to business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of the compliance team, ensuring effective execution of compliance programs and priorities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, controls, and monitoring frameworks.
- Monitor regulatory and legislative developments and assess their potential impact on business operations.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and identify areas of regulatory, operational, and control risk.
- Establish and perform compliance monitoring, testing, reviews, and thematic assessments.
- Investigate potential compliance breaches, control deficiencies, and policy violations, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, compliance documentation, records, and required submissions.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders on compliance matters.
- Provide clear and practical compliance guidance to business teams and support the implementation of regulatory requirements.
- Develop compliance training, awareness programs, and communication materials for employees.
- Track remediation actions, monitor outstanding compliance issues, and ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare compliance reports,
risk assessments, management updates, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Promote a strong culture of integrity, accountability, regulatory awareness, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Compliance, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, internal controls, and risk management principles.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and regulatory expectations applicable to the organization.
- Familiarity with compliance monitoring, risk assessments, investigations, regulatory reporting, and remediation processes.
- Professional qualifications such as ICA, CAMS, CCEP, CRCM, or other relevant compliance certifications are an advantage.
- Robust leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to guide, develop, and motivate a compliance team.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business controls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, independence, sound judgment, and professional discretion.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and regulatory deadlines.
- Proactive approach to identifying emerging compliance risks and improving compliance processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
