About the role

Safety Direct Solutions is seeking experienced Confined Space Sentries to join our expanding Western Operations Team.

Reporting direct to our Western Operations Coordinator, the role will be a Casual position based in Naval Base & Henderson, WA working across various sites with Day Shift, Weekend’s and Night Shift’s available.

As a Confined Space Sentry, your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety of workers entering, working within, and exiting confined spaces.

You will be responsible for maintaining continuous awareness of personnel within the confined space, monitoring entry and egress, maintaining effective communication with workers and the wider response team, and promptly raising the alarm should an emergency or unsafe condition arise.

The Confined Space Sentry plays a critical role in preventing incidents and ensuring that confined space entry requirements, communication protocols, and emergency procedures are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities of a Confined Space Sentry:

- Keep track of who enters and exits the confined space to ensure everyone is accounted for.
- Maintain constant communication with workers inside the confined space, typically through radios or visual contact.




- Be alert to hazards like changes in atmospheric conditions, fire, toxic gases, or structural instability.
- Initiate rescue procedures and alert emergency services
- Record entries, exits, and any incidents in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Ensure that all safety protocols, including PPE use, gas monitoring, and permits, are adhered to.

Required Qualifications

- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- Gas Test Atmospheres
- Provide First Aid & CPR
- White Card (Construction Induction Training Card)

Desirable Qualifications

- Work Safely at Heights
- Issue Work Permits & Conduct Hazard Analysis
